We assist in preparing all necessary documents, submitting the application, and obtaining the registration certificate for your trademark.
China is a member of the Nice Agreement on the classification of goods and services for trademark registration. Registering a trademark in China helps legally protect the goods and services your company provides, ensuring that your brand is securely established in the Chinese market for the long term.
Step-by-step procedure
Consultation and Class Selection for Your Business
We help you choose the optimal combination of classes that accurately reflect your business. It is important to include all goods and services for which you plan to use the trademark, as protection applies only to the specified classes.
Initial Registration (1–2 months)
We review your application for accuracy and ensure all required documents are complete before submission to the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA).
Substantive Examination (4–6 months)
At this stage, CNIPA assesses the uniqueness of your trademark, verifies compliance with legal requirements, and checks for conflicts with existing trademarks. If approved, your application will be published in the Official Trademark Gazette.
Opposition Period
Third parties may file objections if they believe your trademark infringes their rights. If no objections are filed within 3 months, or if they are rejected, the registration process continues.
Issuance of Certificate
After successful registration, CNIPA will issue your trademark registration certificate, valid for 10 years from the registration date.
Six months before expiration, we assist in filing a renewal application, allowing you to extend protection every 10 years.
